Peaceful winter landscape symbolizing spiritual renewal and God's salvation - Today is the Day of Salvation 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

2 Corinthians 6:1-2, Today Is the Day of Salvation: Freedom in Christ-Spiritual Growth Guide

Today is the Day of Salvation

Now is the Critical Time to Accept God's Salvation and Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ

1- "We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says:

2- "In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you."

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:1-2)

Understanding God's Plea: Don't Receive His Grace In Vain

"Plead", In 5:20, Paul describes God as pleading for people to be reconciled to Him. Here Paul pleads (the same Greek word appears in 5:20) with the Corinthians also.

What does "In Vain" Mean for Believers Today?

\"In vain\": Not letting God's kindness and salvation be wasted or ineffective in your life. If believers live for themselves (5:15), they will have received the Grace of God....

The Connection between Grace and Heavenly Rewards

...but they will miss out on heavenly rewards for their service to Him. Rewards, not condemnation: The judgment is for recompense (rewards) for deeds done in the body, not for sin, as Jesus' sacrifice covers that. The evaluation assesses the quality and motives behind a believer's actions (their "works"). Good or bad, referring to the worthiness or worthlessness of the deeds, not condemnation to hell. (2 Corinthians 5:10), (1 Corinthians 3:15).

Paul's Message to the Corinthians About Spiritual Growth

In Philippians 2:12, Paul encourages those who have been saved to work out or develop their salvation ("...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.") The Corinthians were failing at this very point.

Working Out Your Salvation Continually: Moving Beyond Being Stuck

Are You Saved but Stuck? Recognizing Spiritual Stagnation

They were saved and stuck, so to speak. they were not "continually" working out their salvation. Growing in Christ requires the wholehearted devotion described in the Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)—loving God with all your heart, soul, and strength, not partial commitment. Many believers remain stuck because they haven't embraced the total devotion that the greatest commandment calls for.

Take The Biblical "Stuck" Test

Answer These 3 Questions Honestly:

1. Are you living for yourself instead of for Christ? (2 Corinthians 5:15 - "And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again")

2. Are you NOT continually working out your salvation? (Philippians 2:12 - "...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling", the daily spiritual growth you're neglecting)

3. Are you drifting away from your closeness with God? (the intimacy and fellowship that once felt natural now feels distant)

If you answered "yes" to even ONE of these questions, you're receiving God's grace in vain. But here's the good news...

Paul was encouraging them to consider their lives and realign them more closely to Christ. This message is as relevant today as it was back then, Some are "stuck" today.

The good news is, you don't have to stay stuck. You can move on and be FREE.

Here's exactly how:

Practical Steps to Continual Freedom and Growth in Christ

Here are some practical tips to become free, and move and progress forward, continually, in your spiritual walk with Christ.

1-The Power of Consistent Daily Bible Reading

Be content in your daily Bible reading. You ARE making progress even if you don't think so, because....

2-Drawing Closer to God Through Scripture: Finding Answers

...It is within this reading of God's word that you will be drawing closer to God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into all truth (John 16:13) in your life. It is in this "consistency" that you will find answers and guidance, that the Holy Spirit shall reveal to you.

3-Giving Praise, Worship and Adoration in All Circumstances

Give praise and adoration to the Lord always for His mighty deeds, unfailing love and holiness, by listening to and singing praise and worship music, shifting your focus from worldly troubles to heavenly blessings, from God. (Psalm 150; Hebrews 13:15) God's goodness and mercy endure forever (Psalm 136:1),

4-Expressing Gratitude to God

Express sincere thanks for His blessings, big or small, recognizing Him as the source. (1 Corinthians 8:6; Psalm 121:2)

The Trinity as Comforter: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Each member of the blessed Trinity is described as a "Comforter"

God The Father (2 Corinthians 1:3; Isaiah 49:13).

Jesus Christ The Son (Isaiah 61:2; John 14:1; 2 Thessalonians 2:16).

The Holy Spirit (John 14:16,26; 15:26; 16:7).

God's Promise: He is Ready to Listen and Help You Today

In verse 2, Paul quoted Isaiah 49:8 to remind the Corinthians that God was ready to listen to them and to help them. He would deliver them, if only "they turned to Him in faith".

Turn to Jesus in Faith Today: The Only Way to Salvation

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)

Have you turned to Jesus in faith today? The Bible says, in John 14:6, Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
